Tasha Sounart, Creative Director of Theme Parks at Pixar and a veteran animator from the Toy Story 2 team, explained the intricacies of this task. The animators had to meticulously create the entire scene on a grid, ensuring that when projected in the tunnel, it would appear seamless and natural to guests.
"It's all about perspective and ensuring the animation translates well in that unique space," Sounart said. "We wanted to create an immersive experience, and that meant paying attention to every detail."
